Trailer and some other goodies from Marvel's Ant-Man...

Paul Rudd portrays the part of Scott Lang, predecessor to the original Ant-Man, Hank Pym (played by great cinema veteran, Michael Douglas). Lang is a recently parolled theif...and guessing by the trailer, he was parolled at the behest of Pym, following the offer for greatness and heroism.

Along with the trailer being released this week, Corey Stoll (who will be playing

Darren Cross aka Yellow Jacket) did an interview with Entertainment Weekly, where he divulged a little about his character, his suit, and his interaction with other characters in the film... ahem... Hope Van Dyne. Here's a quote from that very interview...

“I’ve even started to use the technology myself, which as a sort of psychotic effect on people if they use it too much,” Stoll added “I can’t get into the details of all the goodies of the Yellowjacket suit, but it’s several generations advanced from what Ant-Man has. And then I put it on—and then I am Yellowjacket!”

Now, I'm not the expert of comics in our group... in fact JB really didn't seemed all that impressed with this trailer. Producer Mo didn't really seem too excited either, so I'm the lone wolf this time. A couple things got me amped right away... 1) Ant-Man is not exactly one of the more widely known members of the Marvel universe; at least not to the typical movie-goer. 2) The cast! Paul Rudd is awesome. Michael Douglas... I mean... c'mon, he's Michael Douglas! Corey Stoll. Now for those who don't recognize the name, he played US Rep Peter Russo on Netflix's House of Cards. 3) Not only did Paul Rudd land the major role in this film, he co-adapted the screenplay. Which, by the way was... 4) Co-written by Edgar Wright. You know... Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, World's End Edgar Wright. 5) Finally, the suit and it's shrinking power seems to have been done really well, based on the trailer sequence. I mean, he was flying on an ant. That is cool.

Ant-Man hits theaters July 17th, 2015. As always, stay tuned for more updates and #OutSpokenJays
